Top 5 Best Ways To Wait Out The Quarantine

Top 5 Best Ways To Spend Quarantine

We get it. We're all getting some cabin fever.

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), many states have active Shelter-In-Place orders. However, We want to make sure you have days full of love and laughter! We have put together a list of the top five things you can do at home during the stay-at-home orders, either by yourself or with your significant other.

Let's start off with our singles. We've all been there before. You're at home bored, so what do you do? Call a friend to hang out! But what happens when nobody is supposed to 'hang out'? Never fear! We've got just what you need.

#1- Pamper Yourself With A Spa Day.

First up on our list is a pampering night and before all the men start rolling their eyes, you can participate in this too. Start off with your favorite *essential* takeout/fast food meal. Chinese anyone? Pizza? Chickfila? Pick your poison. Next, draw yourself a hot bubble bath or stand in the shower soaking up the glorious steam. Finally, grab a tall glass of Cabernet or Craft Beer, whatever floats your boat, and sit back on the couch and tell Amazon's Alexa to find a sappy romance movie for you to watch on the Hallmark channel (we all know it's your guilty pleasure).

#2 Puzzle Night!

Next up on our list is to work on a puzzle. While this might seem like a mundane task, the act of fitting pieces together perfectly to form one coherent picture has been known to be quite therapeutic for many people. This also keep's you mentally sharp for when Alex Trebek finally sends that invitation for you to appear on Jeopardy. Hit up your local Walmart, Target, etc. and find your favorite scene to take home and get started on!

#3 Break Open The Candy

You know what else sounds just heavenly? Sweets! Our next suggestion is to grab a pack of your favorite cookie dough (or several packs...we won’t judge) and spend the night stuffing your face with cookies. Whether you buy some Nestle pre-cut cookies or make your own from scratch, this will be sure to put you in a happy place. Oh, and don’t forget the milk!

#4 Shopping Spree

Now, we recommend grabbing your smartphone, tablet, or laptop and browsing your favorite online retailers for a little online shopping spree. Nothing says pampering like a little self-love with some help from your credit card. What a perfect time for Amazon Prime one day shipping! Of course, don’t go too crazy, but…. Treat Yo Self!

#5 Netflix Marathon

To round out our social distancing spent at home, our last suggestion is a movie marathon. Pick your favorite movies and watch as many as you can. Some of our favorites include the Harry Potter franchise, the Marvel movies, or Disney movies. Or for the sitcom lovers, we recommend the Netflix show 'Love'. 'Love' is an ironic romantic-comedy show about an unlikely couples journey dealing with their own personal problems. For the Film Junkies: It's a Judd Apatow production.

Now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for: it’s time to go over our top five ideas for all you couples out there. Whether this is your first year together or you’ve been together for several years, it can sometimes be tough to figure out what to do. We hope the following suggestions will help you plan the perfect date.

#1: At-Home Wine Tasting!

There are several companies that will allow you to order a flight of wines to do a taste test at home. We love the Pink Niagara from Johnson Estate Winery in Upstate New York. Check them out! They ship their wines throughout the country! Also, don't forget the perfect meal to pair with your wine; Or maybe just some light hors d'oeuvres.

#2: Play A Board Game

If you’re just looking for a fun way to pass the time, you can’t go wrong with board games. Some of our favorites include Monopoly, Life, Scrabble, and Battleship. Warning: We would stay away from Risk. You will spend hours setting up a game of Risk and world domination isn't the most romantic topic.

#3: Backyard Campfire

Looking for something a little more romantic? How about a backyard campfire? There are so many possibilities here. You can roast marshmallows, make s'mores and cook hot dogs. It doesn’t take much to make a homemade campfire with a little firewood in your very own backyard. While you’re out there, you’ll also have the perfect opportunity for a little stargazing if you are far enough away from the city.

#4: Glamping

If you don’t feel like venturing out into the backyard, you can also set up a camping night in the living room. With an air mattress, a tent, some candles, and your significant other, you can almost exactly replicate an outdoor camping trip from the comfort of your own living room. Plus, this way lets you watch Netflix or Disney+ if you want!

#5: Couple-aoke

Our last suggestion is to rent a karaoke machine and spend the night singing your heart out! It can be a lot of fun to let loose and belt out your favorite tunes, especially when your partner is right there beside you doing the exact same thing.

We hope these suggestions will help you to have the best day ever without even having to leave your house! If you have any other suggestions, drop them in the comments below.
